The Hail Mary, Week 15

If you survived the crazy happenings of week 14 then congrats to you. As always, use these players if you need to hit a home run in your matchup on Sunday.

1. Cordarelle Patterson, WR, Vikings – Cordarelle, a first round rookie out of Tennessee, is the perfect example of a “Hail Mary” player. His skill-set includes a whole lot of big play ability, but not much else. He’s a guy that can take an 8 yard curl and turn it into an 80 yard touchdown – similar, albeit not as productive, to someone like Josh Gordon. If you’re dealing with an injury ravaged receiving corps or just tired of getting 4 points from guys like Steve Smith and Cecil Shorts, then maybe it’s time to give Patterson a try.

2. Jay Cutler, QB, Bears – While I vehemently believe Josh McCown should start over Cutler, that’s not the reality right now. The reality is that Cutler will most likely put up double-digit fantasy points and could very well help your fantasy team win this week, even if the Bears lose. So for all of you RGIII owners who are scrambling to find a quarterback to start, look no further.

3. Daniel Thomas, RB, Dolphins – Thomas has played second fiddle to starter Lamar Miller for a while now. But as we head into week 15, Miller’s status is uncertain with a concussion. Even if Lamar does play, his carries will almost certainly be limited. Thomas should see a much heavier workload on Sunday, and he picked a good day to do so: Miami plays the Patriots who own the second worst run defense in the league.
