Wrapping Up: Thursday Night Football

Panthers at Buccaneers: The Panthers are on an absolute tear these past 3 games and they can thank star quarterback Cam Newton for their winning streak. Newton has played exceptional football from both a regular and fantasy perspective. He has 8 touchdowns in the past 3 weeks (6 passing, 2 rushing) and is averaging 10 rushing attempts per game which is very encouraging news to fantasy owners. For Tampa Bay, the loss drops them to 0-7 and turns up the heat on the seat of head coach Greg Schiano. Mike Glennon threw for 275 yards and a touchdown but wasn’t spectacular by any means. Rookie running back Mike James played very well in the first 2 quarters but was only handed 2 carries in the second half because the Bucs were behind by so much. The result of this game puts the Panthers in the conversation for an NFC Wildcard berth and the Buccaneers in the conversation for the first name that Roger Goodell calls next April.
