The Hail Mary, Week 7

The Hail Mary is a weekly article that will try to find you the best deep sleepers for that particular week. Use these guys if you’re desperate and need a “Hail Mary” for the week to win your league. Without further ado…

 1. Joseph Randle, RB, Cowboys – Coming in at number 20 in my running back rankings this week was a guy by the name of Joseph Randall. Many people may not have heard of him, so here’s you’re chance. Randall was buried at the bottom of the Cowboys depth chart to begin the season, but fantasy football is all about opportunity. And with injuries to Demarco Murray and Lance Dunbar, a great opportunity has presented itself for Randle. The former Oklahoma St. stud now finds himself all alone in the Cowboys backfield, and evidenced by his touchdown last week, he knows how to produce.

2. Jordan Reed, TE, Redskins – Remember Fred Davis? The once promising young tight end for the Redskins has taken a complete back seat to Reed who now has fully entrenched himself in the starting job. Reed has the athletic ability to make tough catches all over the field and provides a nice safety net for QB Robert Griffin III. RGIII will start using Reed more and more as the season goes on, and especially this week when the Redskins play the Bears who like to dial up the blitz.

3. Jake Locker, QB, Titans – Is your quarterback on a bye? Well for those of you Drew Brees and Terrelle Pryor owners that are nodding your heads, Locker is a fantastic pickup this week. He has missed the last few games with a hip injury but Tennessee hasn’t won in the time that he has missed. So Locker will be welcomed back with open arms to the Titans, and he should be an asset to your fantasy team as well because he can get you points with both his legs and his arm.
