Wrapping up: Afternoon games
Saints at Buccaneers: New Orleans won this game on a last second field goal, but only because Tampa Bay beat themselves with penalties and poor execution. Doug Martin was the lone bright spot for the Bucs offense as he rushed for 144 yards on the afternoon. On the other side of the ball, Drew Brees wasn’t pretty but he got the job done, with the help of Jimmy Graham. The former University of Miami Tight End had 179 receiving yards and a touchdown
Broncos at Giants: This game was close for a while, but Peyton Manning and the Denver offense proved to be too much for his younger brother to overcome. The quiet star of the game was RB Knowshon Moreno who had 93 yards and 2 scores. For the Giants, their running back situation is a mess. David Wilson got 7 carries but only managed 17 yards. However, that was more than the 6 yards that Brandon Jacobs and Da’Rel Scott rushed for on 12 carries.
Lions at Cardinals: Calvin Johnson almost stole the show, but Arizona somehow managed to salvage a win from this messy game. Reggie Bush got hurt for the Lions and his status so far is unknown. For Arizona, Rashard Mendenhall had a solid game, and Carson Palmer was decent, but no one really impressed.
Jaguars at Oakland: Darren Mcfadden had his second straight game of really good fantasy numbers. Cecil Shorts had 93 receiving yards, but no one else on the Jaguars is worth starting, especially after MJD went down with an injury in the second quarter and did not return.
