Waiver Wire Pickups – Week 14
The players that you will pickup this week will help you in your final push for a championship throughout the last four weeks of the season, so scour the Waiver Wire intently.
1. Mike Thomas, WR, Lions – This is a very deep find and he should be available in almost all leagues. Thomas may not be a household name; he is best remembered for his game winning hail mary catch a few years ago with the Jaguars. Now Thomas is with the Lions, and he has pretty much been a non-factor this season. However, with both Ryan Broyles and Titus Young landing on Injured Reserve this week, Thomas becomes the number 2 wide-out on the Lions. If you are in a deep league and looking to take a flier on someone, Thomas is your man.
2. Brandon Myers, TE, Raiders – Another player that you may not have heard of, at least until this past week. Against the Browns, he led all Tight Ends in the NFL with 130 yards and a touchdown. This fantasy output of 19 points is not actually all that uncommon for Myers. He plays on a terrible Oakland team so he does not get much attention, but in the previous 4 games before Cleveland, Myers had a games of 11 and 17 fantasy points. He has vastly improved throughout the course of the year, and he is a great pickup this week in fantasy.
3. Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Steelers – Let’s say your team has had a bad string of luck and you had both DeSean Jackson and Jordy Nelson. Both are injured and you aren’t looking for someone to necessarily pick up the slack, but rather a dependable player to get you some solid fantasy points you can trust. That player is Emmanuel Sanders. He does not score a lot of touchdowns, but he moves the chains and gets enough yards to be worth a start, especially in deeper leagues.
