Waiver Wire pickups – Week 11

1. Marcel Reece, RB, Raiders – With starter Darren Mcfadden and backup Mike Goodson both likely out this week, Marcel Reece is a great pickup. He can do so many things in the passing and running game and the Raiders love to use his versatility. He should get even more touches this week with both top options injured, and don’t be surprised if he finds the end zone either. The Raiders also get to face the Saints and their 32nd ranked defense.

2. Donnie Avery, WR, Colts – You may not have noticed, but Avery has put together 5 straight games of at least 4 receptions. That may not seem like a lot, but it does show 3 things. 1) He has the trust of Andrew Luck and the Colts plan to use him. 2) He has overcome his hip injury and is starting to build up momentum. 3) That number should only improve as the Colts play the Patriots the weekend, who have the 28th ranked pass defense.

3. Daryl Richardson, RB, Rams – If he ever gets his chance to shine, Richardson can be special. Right now he is behind the Steven Jackson on the depth chart in St. Louis, but things like that can change fast, especially if the backup is getting 5.7 yards per carry. He may not be a household name, but even in weeks where he doesn’t get much playing time, Richardson has put up fantasy numbers worthy of a start. My advice is to pick him up now before he catches steam, and when the inevitable Steven Jackson injury occurs, you’ll have a quality starting running back on your hands, as well as some major trade bait.
